A review of the basic underlying technical aspects of Crypto and Blockchain designed to answer questions such as:  What is cryptography and the relationship of symmetric and asymmetric encryption and hashing?  What is a blockchain and how does immutability contribute to blockchain functionality including consensus among a decentralized network?  What is cryptocurrency including the differences between crypto tokens and coins and how crypto wallets interact therewith?  What are smart contracts and how do they relate to Web 3.0?  What are non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and how do smart contracts play a role in NFT ownership including a linkage between NFT ownership and creative works?  A base erudition of the underlying technical aspects of crypto and blockchain is provided so one can more effectively understand issues that arise as crypto and blockchain continue to permeate areas such as banking and finance, healthcare, property recordation, supply chain management and many other fields.  Moreover, basic understanding of technical aspects of crypto and blockchain is herein covered so as to facilitate more particular application to further examination of the role of patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets in protecting and leveraging crypto and blockchain.
